magazine analysis 2

See the source image

This magazine uses a mid shot of the model(Emma Watson) so that the viewer can see the facial expressions and the body language of the model. The subject has her chin lent against her hand which connotes confidence, and being comfortable. She also has her mouth slightly open which may be to make her look more attractive when posing. She is wearing a fluffy, white wool jacket, which gives her an angelic, innocent look, which adds to the attraction the magazine is trying to give. The Magazine follows the typical conventions of fashion magazines, due to the cover lines either side of the model, and an additional logo situated at the top of the page-behind the model. The title 'ELLE' is in a serif font, which projects that the magazine is trying to give a classic feel rather than contemporary. The author of the magazine uses alliterations such as "Hippest new holiday" to create catchy sections that the reader may be interested in reading. The general colour scheme of the magazine cover is black and white, which may be a reference to the olden days, adding to the classic feel of the magazine.
