risk assessment

risk assessment

- The photographs were taken on a rocky uneven terrain therefore their is a high risk of the camera breaking if it was dropped.

-The photos were taken in a car park which increases the risk of getting hit by a car.

-There was a skip full of old furniture and wood, therefore there was a possibility of getting your clothes caught on a nail.

Statement of intent:

Statement of intent:

The concept of my magazine is an Anti-steriotype of typical teenagers which will be expressed by fashion. Most people beleive that teens are scruffy, and immature, wearing tracksuits however this isnt always the case - the outfits that my models will be wearing will be high end and mature, such as shirts, and trousers, nevertheless the outfits will still express the idea of individuality through colour and unusual looking outfits. I will manifest two different representations in my magazine. I will have a caucasian model with their hair tied in a man bun, wearing a purple shirt , with a black shirt jacket over the top, the model will also be wearing black boots and black ripped jeans. This outfit represents the mature, smart look, however the bright purple brings out the models individualism and personality which takes away the seriousness of the magazine. My next model will be a african male wearing a striped purple shirt, along with striped golf trousers, this will appeal to other cultures making my magazine ethnically diverse, inspiring other young, black men to dress/keep dressing in this sophisticated style. The theme of purple in both models outfits is significant due to the fact that the colour manifests royalty, power, and ambition. Purple also represents meanings of wealth, extravagance, and creativity which is what my magazine represents. For my first front cover I will shoot in a urban area with tools in the background creating a paradox between the smart clothes and the messy area, I feel that this creates an antisteriotype of typical smart clothing by being in a area which looks neglected which my target audeince may feel is a 'cool' way of dressing sophisticated- I will also use this area for one of my contents pages. I plan to shoot my second front cover and contents page in a black studio to put emphasis on the outfits in contrast to the hectic setting in the first front cover and contents page .
My magazine webiste will be simplistic and modern using sans serif font to project the modern day view that I am portraying of teenagers with a range of quotes from famous fashion icons which will further attract my target audience of teenagers into the fashion industry. For my audio visual I will take inspiration from clothing websites such as Stone Island and ASOS by shooting a short clip of my model adjusting his outfit, which gives the viewer a clear look at the outfit. I will use the Prince track- purple rain as it is a well know song with a calm feel to it which will be a good edition to the video.

Audio visual advertisement

 Audio visual advertisement

For my audio visual material that will appear on my website, I willbe showcasing a catwalk with 2 different models with 2 different looks that both appeal to the ABC1 demographic. The clothing will be smart but colourful and individual. The video will have a few different shots of the models sitting down and walking from different angles to allow the reader to see the outfit as clear as possible. I will use the instrumental from the track 'This is America' by Childish Gamnbino as it fits in the target audience I am aiming for, the song has also been recognized by its strange, unconventional events, which is the same persona the outfits i use will give.

 video plan:

1st shot: 1st model walking straight doing a cat walk.

2nd shot: 1st model sitting down on a chair moving head towards the camera slowly.

3rd shot: model walking straight( record from the side angle)

4th shot: 2nd model walking straight in outfit

5th shot: 2nd model crouching down in a different location+ pose.

6th shot: 2nd model walking forward from the side angle.

Initial Ideas Brainstorm

Initial Ideas Brainstorm

My initial ideas for my magazine consist of a simplistic theme, where only the model and the fashion are focused on in the image. This rejects typical conventions of fashion magazines due to the lack of cover lines, and advertisements, instead the reader can purely concentrate on the fashion, and it therefore does not give away too much information. The front cover will have a simple colour scheme, however the colours that are used will be bright and contrasting with the outfit being promoted.

My Masthead will be contemporary, which will fit into the new modern theme of my magazine. Stereotypically,high-end, expensive clothing is boring and plain, nevertheless this magazine will show different through the modern, cool look. The Masthead will be large so that the name of the magazine is promoted, and will also have the website located near it also.

The Model will be dressed smart casual, but will still appeal to the ABC1 demographic. Due to the fact that my target audience are teenagers and young men, the fashion will still be bright and lively, rather than a stereotypical businessman.

I will have a mid shot of the model, sitting down as this connotes they are confident and relaxed. They will be ,making eye contact with the camera to manifest direct address, so that the reader feels it is them the magazine is directly promoting the brand to. When I am shooting the magazine I will ensure that the aperture of the camera is low, to create high-key lighting and bring out the models features. I will also use a lower ISO value, so that my photograph is detailed.

Audience Research

Audience Research

For my fashion magazine, the target audience will be similar to the Vogue target audience as I will be aiming it at the ABC1 demographic. This is 16-24 year olds who are earning above the average wage for their age, which means that the clothing will be high-end.The Vogue magazine's main buyers are inbetween 25-34 which is slightly different to the audience I am aiming at, this may change how formal or colourful the clothing is, however it will still be high-end. My magazine will be mainly aimed at males to inspire them `how to dress , nevertheless, it will still appeal to females as they will find the males attractive, and may even be looking for clothes to buy for their partner.
